Week 4 Pre-Production

Tuesday -

In Andy's afternoon session I carried on modifying the storyboard up to date. I had to modify the moodboard because the location we were original filming at was unavailable because uncertainly of permission use of the vending machines. Our backup, location was the Chichester College and they said it was ok for us to film there, as long as we didn’t film any of the staff. After I had finished my storyboard, I continued in gathering my paperwork and organising it to show Andy tomorrow.

 Wednesday -

In Andy’s morning session, we had a meeting with him and our entire group work was complete and up to date.  Andy also checked our individual work and also, gave us an improvement plan to fill out and complete. Some of the things which I needed to work on were content analysis, justification and research. I started to act on my improvement straight away after the meeting, as all of the work has to be improved by Friday.  In Harry’s afternoon he taught us how to use Adobe Premiere which was a simple editing program used for film. I found this Premiere workshop fairly straight forward and easy to use. The Premiere workshop was still really useful and was one the most beneficial practical skills I have learnt so far on the course. Later in Harry’s lesson we had a camera tutorial with Phil, this was also a very important lesson with Phil because he told us how operate a camera safely without causing harm to the camera or yourself. I didn’t feel too comfortable using camera at first because I didn’t want to break any of the equipment. After a while, getting comfortable to using a camera, I was quite confident of setting up a camera. This ended our lesson with Harry and this was the most useful practical lesson so far I have learnt with Harry. For my next lesson, as a group we need to show all our pre-production work to Andy and get him to check it, so then that he can allow us to book a camera for next Tuesday.

Friday -

In Andy’s morning session, we managed as a group to complete all the coursework and d organise it in a folder for Andy to have a look at. Andy was satisfied with our work and he allowed us to go book a camera. We wanted to book a camera for Monday, but it was booked out, so we decided to book it for Tuesday morning. In Simon’s lesson we continued to update our blogs and had a minutes meeting, we also made sure everything was up to date in our group folder so that we could spend next week filing and editing our TV Advert.
